Ambrogio Galbaio (7 September 770-) was a State Inquisitor of the Republic of Venice and a member of the House of Galbaio.
Biography[]
Ambrogio Galbaio was born on 7 September 770 to Doge Giovanni of Venice and Aikaterine Amalfinos, and he was from the patrician House of Galbaio. He was betrothed to marry Lantsuinda Adalberts, a member of Frankish nobility, and on 22 September 786 the two of them consolidated their marriage after Ambrogio came of age. Ambrogio was the second son of Giovanni, so Giovanni compensated for his lack of inheritance by making him one of the three State Inquisitors of Venice. His wife died in 793, so he remarried to Uusbail verch Bran, a Pictish princess. His father granted him the Barony of Segna after taking over the barony in 795.
