Barnabas Kelet Henagan (7 June 1798-10 January 1855) was the Democratic Governor of South Carolina from 7 April to 9 December 1840, succeeding Patrick Noble and preceding John Peter Richardson II.

Biography[]

Barnabas Kelet Henagan was born in Marlboro, South Carolina in 1798, and he worked as a physician and planter after studying at Heidelberg in Germany. He served in the State Senate from 1834 to 1838, as Lieutenant Governor from 1838 to 1840, as acting Governor in 1840, in the State Senate from 1844 to 1846, and as Secretary of State from 1846 to 1850. He died in 1855.
