Balochistan is one of the four provinces of Pakistan, located in the southwestern parts of the country. The region was established on 14 August 1947 with its capital at Quetta, and it bordered the Sistan and Baluchestan Province of Iran, the remaining portion of the Baluchistan region. Balochistan has a very dry, desert climate, and it is populated mostly by Sunni Muslim Balochs. In 2014, Balochistan had a population of 33,162,222 people.
