Bakir Izetbegovic (28 June 1956-) was President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 10 March to 10 November 2012 (succeeding Zeljko Komsic and preceding Nebojsa Radmanovic), from 10 March to 17 November 2014 (succeeding Komsic and preceding Mladen Ivanic), from 17 March to 17 November 2016 (succeeding Dragan Covic and preceding Ivanic), and from 17 March 2018. The son of Alija Izetbegovic, he was a member of the Party of Democratic Action.
Biography[]
Bakir Izetbegovic was born in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia from 28 June 1956, the son of Alija Izetbegovic. He worked as a consultant at an architectural consulting firm from 1982 to 1992, and he entered politics in 2000, following in his father's footsteps. Izetbegovic served as President of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018, serving as a member of the conservative Party of Democratic Action.
