Baka (died 1531 BC) was an Egyptian slave overseer during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I. He was known to be cruel and cold-hearted, showing no regard for the Pharaoh's Hebrew slaves. Baka sought to have Joshua executed for attempting to save Jochebed from being crushed (having fought Egyptian overseers in the process of rescuing her), and Joshua later got into a fight with Baka when Baka took Joshua's lover Lilia as a house slave. Joshua was arrested for helping Lilia escape, but Moses - who sought to punish Baka for mistreating the Hebrew slaves - killed Baka in the process of saving Joshua, having recently discovered his own Hebrew descent. Baka's murder and Moses' confession of Jewish ancestry were overheard by Dathan, who reported both to Pharaoh Seti I, resulting in Moses' exile to Midian.
