Baja California is a state of northwestern Mexico, with Mexicali serving as its capital; Tijuana is the largest city. Baja California borders the state of Baja California Sur to the south, while it borders the US states of California and Arizona to the north. The state is a mixture of beaches, forests, and deserts, and it has numerous islands off both of its shores. In 2015, Baja California had a population of 3,315,766 people.
