
Bahnini Amini (born 17 July 1995) is a German citizen who was convicted of attempting to commit mass murder for the Islamic State.
Biography[]
Bahnini Amini was born on 17 July 1995 in Wurzburg, Bavaria, Germany to a Muslim family that had immigrated from Morocco in search of work. Amini was a skateboarder and tattoo artist for several years, but he was radicalized by the Islamic State online. He decided to quit his job as a tattoo artist, as it violated his religion of Islam, and he decided to attend the mosque more often. In 2016, Amini decided to collaborate with a cell of Bavarian IS sympathizers to carry out terrorist attacks, but he was arrested on 23 July 2016 and sentenced to life in prison.
