Bagheria is a town in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily, Italy, located 6.2 miles east of Palermo. The area was established in 1658 as a wealthy suburb of Palermo; its name comes from the Arabic name Bahriyah, meaning "marine". Villas were built throughout the 18th century, and the city is still known for its many uniquely-designed villas. In 2020, Bagheria had a population of 53,149 people.
