
The BTR-80 is a Soviet armored personnel carrier that entered service in 1986. The BTR-80 replaced the BTR-60 and BTR-70 in the Soviet Army, and it was first deployed during the Soviet-Afghan War. It later fought in the Nagorno-Karabakh War, Georgian Civil War, the Transnistria War, the Afghanistan War, the First Chechen War, the Dagestan War, the Second Chechen War, the Russo-Georgian War, the Iraqi Civil War, and the Donbass War. Over 5,000 were built after 1984.
