The BTR-70 is an eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier that entered Soviet service in 1972. The BTR-70 first saw action in the Soviet-Afghan War, and a very small quantity of BTR-70s saw service in the MPLA's armed wing during the Angolan Civil War. The BTR also saw service in the Afghan Civil War, the Nagorno-Karabakh War, the First Chechen War, and the Donbass War.
