
Azad of Sunni Uprising (20 August 1233-17 November 1265) was the leader of a Sunni uprising against Teguder Khan in 1265.
Biography[]
Azad was born on 20 August 1233 to a family of Sunni Muslim Kurds. He became an imam, and on 1 October 1265 he began an uprising against Teguder Khan, consisting of Sunni Kurdish rebels. On 16 November his army was destroyed at the Battle of Masouleh in Iran, and on 17 November he was executed for high treason in Qom.
