Aykut Kubat (died 2018) was a German policeman who served in the Berlin Police's narcotics unit during the 2010s.
Biography[]
Aykut Kubat was born in Berlin, Germany to a family of Turkish descent. He joined the Berlin Police and was assigned to its organized crime and narcotics unit, where he worked alongside Erol Birkan during the Police's crusade against the Tarik-Amir clan and its powerful drug trafficking organization. After a raid against the clan went wrong in 2018, Birkan suspected Kubat of being a Tarik-Amir mole, and he thus excluded Kubat from Operation Red Card, which Kubat had been considered to co-lead in Birkan's place. When Birkan finally confronted Kubat with that allegation, a fight broke out between the two men, and it was broken up by their colleagues. Kubat ultimately participated in the final raid on the Tarik-Amir clan in Kreuzberg, during which he was shot in the neck and fatally wounded.
