The Avenue de Breteuil is a street located in the École militaire district of the 7th arrondissement and the Quartier Necker district of the 15th arrondissement in Paris, France. The route was created in 1680 in the marshy Grenelle countryside, and the part between the Place de Breteuil (created in 1782) and the Rue de Sevres was ceded by the state to the city in 1838. The remaining section to the Place Vauban was ceded in 1853, and the current avenue was created in 1860. On 30 May and 6 August 1918, German "Big Bertha" shells landed on the Avenue de Breteuil during World War I.
