The Authentic Party of the Mexican Revolution (PARM) was a socialist political party in Mexico which was active from 1954 to 2000. It was founded by the Mexican Revolution generals Juan Barragan and Jacinto B. Trevino, who split from the Institutional Revolutionary Party; however, President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines saw the formation of PARM as an opportunity to seemingly prove Mexico's democratic government, when PARM became little more than a satellite party of the ruling PRI. In 1988, PARM broke from the PRI to nominate Cuauhtemoc Cardenas for President, but they refused to split from the PRI following Cardenas' defeat. It lost its registry in 1994, briefly reappeared in 1999, and dissolved in 2000.
