Aurelio Mosquera

Aurelio Mosquera (2 August 1883-17 November 1939) was President of Ecuador from 2 December 1938 to 17 November 1939, succeeding Manuel Maria Borrero and preceding Carlos Alberto Arroyo del Rio.

Biography[]

Aurelio Mosquera was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1883, and he was educated in Paris before becoming a university professor, dean, and rector. He became the leader of the Ecuadorian Radical Liberal Party and served as President from 1938 to 1939, re-establishing the secular Constitution of 1906 before dying in office.
