Augustine Henry Shepperd (24 February 1792-11 July 1864) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-NC 9) from 4 March 1827 to 3 March 1839 (succeeding Romulus Mitchell Saunders and preceding John Hill) and from 4 March 1841 to 3 March 1843 (succeeding Hill and preceding Kenneth Rayner), and from NC-4 from 4 March 1847 to 3 March 1851 (succeeding Alfred Dockery and preceding James Turner Morehead).
Biography[]
Augustine Henry Shepperd was born in Rockford, North Carolina, and he practiced law in Surry County before serving in the State House from 1822 to 1826, in the US House of Representatives from 1827 to 1839, from 1841 to 1843, and from 1847 to 1851, and as a planter in Salem until his death in 1864.
