Aug V. Petit (died 1899) was a US Marshal who served in Louisiana during the 1890s. In 1899, after the outlaw Arthur Morgan shot the Rhodes sheriff's deputy Bencel B. Bainbridge, he and dozens more lawmen were killed while attempting to apprehend the dangerous gunslinger.
