Aube

Aube is a department in the Grand Est region of France, with Troyes serving as its capital. Named for the river Aube, the department was one of the original 83 departments established in 1790 during the French Revolution, and it was occupied by Russian troops from June 1815 to November 1818 following the Battle of Waterloo. The department was a conservative stronghold, and it had a population of 310,242 people in 2019.
