Atilia

Atilia was the first wife of Cato the Younger and the mother of his two eldest children. The daughter of Gaius Atilius Serranus, the consul of 106 BC, Atilia married Cicero in 73 BC. She gave birth to Marcus Porcius Cato, who died at the Battle of Philippi, and Porcia Catonis, who later married Atilia's cousin Marcus Junius Brutus. In 63 BC, Cato divorced Atilia on the grounds of her unseemly behavior, remarrying to Marcia.
