Astroland shootout

The Astroland shootout occurred at the closed Astroland amusement park on Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City in 2008, when Luis Fernando Lopez killed dozens of Bulgarin crime family hitmen and destroyed three vans carrying large amounts of heroin (which had formerly been in the possession of Dimitri Rascalov). Lopez single-handedly assaulted the park in hopes of taking out Ray Bulgarin's source of income before coming after Bulgarin himself; Lopez instead encountered Bulgarin's henchman Timur Ovchinnikov and killed him after finding out that Bulgarin was leaving from JFK International Airport aboard his private jet. Dozens of Russian mobsters were killed in the shootout, and some parts of the closed park were damaged. The destruction of the heroin was a major blow to the drug trade in the city, and Bulgarin's murder shortly afterwards would lead to the dissolution of the Bulgarin family.
