Astoria Queens

Astoria is a middle-class neighborhood of Queens, New York City. The neighborhood was named after wealthy 19th century German-American businessman John Jacob Astor, and it was settled by German and Irish immigrants during the 19th and 20th centuries. Astoria is notable for its Irish architecture, including the famous Bohemian Beer Garden, modelled after a traditional Irish pu. In 2010, Astoria had a population of 78,793 people, with 49.2% being whites, 26.5% Hispanics, 16.2% Asians (including many Bangladeshi immigrants), 4.5% African-Americans, and 3.4% others.
