
Aslambek Ilimsultanovich Vadalov (1972-) was the disputed Emir of the Caucasus Emirate from 1 to 13 August 2010, interrupting Dokka Umarov's terms.
Biography[]
Aslambek Ilimsultanovich Vadalov was born in Ishkoy-Yurt, Chechen-Ingush ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union in 1972. He joined the Chechen separatist cause following the outbreak of the First Chechen War in 1994, and he may have also fought in the Afghan Civil War and the Tajik Civil War. Vadalov went on to fight in the Second Chechen War, becoming commander of the Gudermes region in 2005 and swearing allegiance to Dokka Umarov in 2007. In 2010, he briefly served as Emir of the Caucasus Emirate after dissident commanders within the Emirate appointed him, but he resigned as Deputy Military Emir of the Caucasus Emirate on 13 August 2010. In November 2016, he was arrested in Turkey.
