Asa Hoxie Willie (11 October 1829-16 March 1899) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-TX) from 4 March 1873 to 3 March 1875, preceding Gustav Schleicher.
Biography[]
Asa Hoxie Willie was born in Washington, Georgia on 11 October 1829, and he moved to Brenham, east-central Texas in 1846 and became a lawyer in 1848. He served as a district attorney from 1852 to 1854 and as a Confederate States Army major during the American Civil War, after which he moved to Galveston. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1873 to 1875, as Galveston city attorney from 1875 to 1876, and on the Texas Supreme Court from 1882 until his retirement in 1888. He died in 1899.
