Asa Chiles

Asa Chiles (died 1861) was a resident of Lexington, Missouri during the American Civil War. At the start of the conflict, he toed the line between George Bowden's Unionism and Horton Lee Sr.'s outright secessionism. However, he was murdered when Unionist Jayhawkers raided and burned his home; he was shot within view of his son Jack Bull Chiles, who - along with Jake Roedel - went on to join the 1st Missouri Irregulars.
