as-Suwayda Governorate is one of the fourteen provinces of Syria, located in the far southeast of the country on the border with Jordan. The region includes the Jabal al-Druze mountains, and a majority of the 770,000 inhabitants of the governorate are from the Druze ethnoreligious group. The capital is al-Suwayda.
