
Arthur Smith (15 November 1785 – 30 March 1853) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-VA 20) from 4 March 1821 to 3 March 1823 (succeeding John C. Gray and preceding John Floyd) and from VA-2 from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1825 (succeeding James Stephenson and preceding James Trezvant).
Biography[]
Arthur Smith was born in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, Virginia in 1785, and he became a lawyer in 1808. He served as a colonel in the War of 1812, and he served in the House of Delegates from 1818 to 1820 and in the US House of Representatives from 1821 to 1825. He died in 1853 at the age of 67.
