Arthur Lloyd Thomas (22 August 1851-15 September 1924) was the Republican Governor of the Utah Territory from 6 May 1889 to 9 May 1893, interrupting Caleb Walton West's terms.
Biography[]
Arthur Lloyd Thomas was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1851, and he was raised in Pittsburgh. Thomas served as a staffer for congressman James S. Negley before serving as secretary of the Utah Territory from 1879 to 1887 and as its Republican governor from 1889 to 1893, and he served as postmaster of Salt Lake City from 1898 to 1914. He died in 1924.
