Arne (died 837) was a Norwegian Viking during the 8th century AD. He was one of Ragnarr Lodbrok's close friends, and he took part in his raids on Northumbria in 793, including the Sack of Lindisfarne (where he partook in the killing of priests) and the Sack of Hexham. He later helped Ragnarr in seizing power from Earl Haraldson in 794, and he was publicly recognized as one of Ragnarr's friends, alongside Leif Marteinn and Torstein. In 837, he attempted to convince Ragnarr's treacherous brother Rollo Sigurdsson to come back to his brother's side, but Rollo refused, telling Arne to inform his brother that he would only respond to him with blood. In the ensuing battle between Ragnarr and Jarl Borg of Gotaland's armies, Arne challenged Rollo in combat, but Rollo impaled him with a spear, killing him.
