Army Group Center was a German army group that existed from 22 June 1941 to 9 May 1945. The army group was formed with the purpose of taking part in the invasion of the Soviet Union, Operation Barbarossa, and Fedor von Bock commanded the army group during the drive on Moscow. The army group would be destroyed during Operation Bagration in the summer of 1944, and it would be forced to retreat into northern Poland. The army group would be destroyed in the Battle of Koenigsberg in April 1945, while some of the remnants would also be destroyed at the Battle of Berlin in April-May 1945. The last of Army Group Center would be forced to surrender or die after the Prague Offensive in May.
