Armstead Milton Alexander (26 May 1834-7 November 1892) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-MO 2) from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1885, succeeding James Henry McLean and preceding John Blackwell Hale.

Biography[]

Armstead Milton Alexander was born in Winchester, Kentucky in 1834, and he moved to Paris, Missouri in 1848 and became a blacksmith. He joined the California Gold Rush in 1849, and he later returned to Missouri and served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. After the war, he practiced law and served as Monroe County prosecuting attorney from 1872 to 1876 and in the US House of Representatives from 1883 to 1885, and he died in 1892.
