Armistead Gardens is a neighborhood in northeast Baltimore, Maryland. It was built as public housing for industrial workers during World War II, being built between 1939 and 1941. In 1956, a cooperative was formed by the residents. In 2008, Armistead Gardens had a population of 3,150 people, with 81.4% being white, 1% African-American, 1% Native American, 1% Asian, 2.7% other, 4% multiracial, and 10% Hispanic.
