Arlen Bitterbuck (1887-1935) was a Native American criminal sentenced to death at the Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana.
Biography[]
He was a Native American who was found guilty of killing another man during an extremely violent bar fight over a pair of boots. Because of the seriousness of the situation, he was sentenced to death by means of electrocution in Old Sparky. In Paul Edgecomb's story, Arlen was the first to die on the death row list.
