Arkadios

Arkadios (died 73 BC) was a Greek gladiator from Athens. Nicknamed "the Scourge of Athens", he bore a red serpent on his shield, and he was considered to be Marcus Decius Solonius' best gladiator; in 73 BC, he was sent to execute the Thracian prisoner Spartacus in the arena, while also fighting against several others of Solonius' men. Spartacus was nearly killed, but he managed to slay all the gladiators in the fight, killing Arkadios first by running him through the chest with a gladius.
