Arkaan Hanif

Arkaan Hanif was an Afghan politician who served as Governor of Helmand Province during the Afghanistan War. Hanif claimed to stand for the average Afghan citizen, and he took a hard stance against fundamentalism and corruption while supporting defense and infrastructure policies hostile to the interests of the British Task Force Helmand. As a result, the British backed his opponent Abdul Lateef Ebrahim's gubernatorial bid.
