Biography[]
Aristaios was born in Boeotia, Ancient Greece, and he became one of the famous Champions of Boeotia during the Peloponnesian War; he and the other champions sided with Athens, and Aristaios became a strategos in the Athenian military. He was sent to train troops at the military fort of Gla on Lake Kopais during Sparta's Boeotia campaign, but the Spartan polemarchos Nikolaos confronted him on the cliff in front of the fort and duelled him, impaling him with his spear before his estranged daughter Kassandra, a mercenary, could assassinate Aristaios herself.
