Areas Eyanes (born 1504) was a conquistador of Spain.
Biography[]
Areas Eyanes was born in 1504 in Spain. Cruel and cunning, he was a promising commander, and he was adopted by Pedro Velazquez in 1531. He took up a post in the city of Mexico in central Mexico, and took command of an army sent to guard against the Chichimecs to the north. In 1544, Eyanes led an army into the city of Zacatecas after a brave assault, beginning a war between New Spain and the Chichimec Tribes.
