The 'Arden Heights Woods' is a 200-acre forested hardwood swamp on Staten Island, New York City, New York. The Arden Heights Woods, located in the Arden Heights neighborhood and named for the "Forest of Arden" from William Shakespeare's play As You Like It (referring either to the Forest of Arden in Warwickshire or the Ardennes in France), are the site of kettle ponds left behind by the prehistoric movement of glaciers. The woods are also New York City's largest wetlands, and it is known for its migratory owl and bat populations.
