The Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) is a Rakhine nationalist political party in Myanmar. The ALP was founded in 1967 with the help of the Karen National Union, and the Arakan Liberation Army was formed as its armed wing. The ALP battled both Indian and Tatmadaw forces during the 1970s and repeatedly crumbled under government pressure. While the ALP retained its alliance with the KNU, it signed a ceasefire with the government in 2015 and aided government crackdowns on rival rebel groups such as the Rohingya even after the 2021 Burmese coup d'etat.
