The Arabian Peninsula is a peninsula in Western Asia considered to be a subcontinent of Asia. Also simply known as Arabia, the peninsula is the homeland of the Arabs and the birthplace of Islam, which has been the predominant belief in the peninsula since the 7th century. It is the largest peninsula in the world, and it is important to world economy due to its vast oil and natural gas reserves. Saudi Arabia is the largest country on the peninsula, followed by Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.
