Arab nationalism is a nationalist political ideology that calls for political union and rejuvenation in the Arab World. Its beliefs are that Arabs from the Atlantic Ocean to the Arabian Sea constitute one nation bound together by common linguistic, cultural, religious, and historical heritage, and its beliefs include an end to Western influence in the Arab states. Advocates of Arab nationalism include King Faisal I of Iraq from the Kingdom of Iraq, Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, and the Ba'ath Party, whose members included Saddam Hussein and Bashar al-Assad.
