The Arab Ba'ath Movement was a Ba'athist political party in Syria which existed from 1940 to 1947. It was founded by Michel Aflaq and Salah al-Din al-Bitar in 1940, and it participated in anti-colonial Arab nationalist militant activities in both Syria and Iraq, fighting in the 1941 Anglo-Iraqi War. In 1947, the Arab Ba'ath Movement merged with the Arab Ba'ath Party to form the united Ba'ath Party.
