Araadhak Singh was a northern Indian maharaja and vassal of the Maratha Confederacy. In 1759, he contributed 5,000 troops to Sadashivrao Bhau's Marathi army as it march northward in preparation for a showdown with the invading Ahmad Shah Durrani, but Singh made a private deal with the Afghan ruler under which his soldiers would withdraw from the climactic battle in exchange for Afghan help in liberating Araadhak's kingdom from Marathi taxation. At the 1761 Third Battle of Panipat, Araadhak withdrew his troops from battle at a crucial juncture, dooming the Marathi army.
