Applecross is a village located on the Applecross peninsula of Ross-shire, Scotland. It was known to the Picts as Aporcrosan, meaning "confluence of the River Crosan", and its monastery was founded in 672 AD. By the 2010s, the village of Applecross had 544 residents, and it is one of the oldest settlements in Scotland.
