Aphrodite is a minor goddess in Greek mythology who is the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. She was the daughter of either Uranus, a Titan or Zeus, God of Lightning; and Dione, a titaness. She was said to have been born on Cyprus. Aphrodite's beauty led to many of the other gods fighting over her, so Zeus married her to the deformed and ugly Hephaestus, ensuring that nobody would fight over her. However, she had affairs with the God of War Ares and mortals Anchises and Adonis.
