Aoyama Munechika

Aoyama Munechika (1831-September 1867) was a Japanese daimyo and the ruler of the pro-Imperial Gujohachiman Domain from June 1867. Munechika was installed as the ruler of Mino Province by the Choshu Domain following its capture of Inokuchi from the pro-Shogunate Nagaoka Domain in June 1867, and he defended the region from the Tokugawa Shogunate's armies as Mori Takachika's Choshu army pressed the offensive. In September 1867, he was killed when the Kanazawa Domain captured Inokuchi and crushed the Gujohachiman Domain.
