Aonghus mac Somhairle (1150-1210) was a son of Somerled and a leading member of his clan.
Biography[]
Aonghus mac Somhairle was born in 1150, a son of Somerled and the brother of Ragnall mac Somairle and Dubgall mac Somairle. On his father's death in 1164, Aonghus was given northern Sudreyjar by his brother Ragnall, who succeeded his father as King. However, Ragnall and Aonghus came into conflict, and, in 1209, Ragnall's sons defeated the men of Skye before slaying Aonghus and his sons on the same island a year later.
