
Antonio Vittoria (died 25 June 1993) was Dean of Pharma Sciences at Naples University and a key figure in the Tangentopoli scandal. He committed suicide during the investigation.
Biography[]
Antonio Vittoria was a professor at Naples University, where he was also Dean of Pharma Sciences.
He was a member of the Freemasons, and he was also secretly involved with corruption in the healthcare industry. Vittoria was in charge of the cartel that decided the prices of medicines, and he decided on the number to be paid for kickbacks.
In 1993, following Gabriele Monaco's testimony to the police, Vittoria was arrested and prosecuted for his involvement in the Tangentopoli scandal. However, Vittoria instead committed suicide with poison, although the doctors claimed that he died of cardiac arrest, while others suspected the Masons of involvement.
