Antonin de Selliers de Moranville (1852-1945) was a Belgian Army general during World War I.
Biography[]
Antonin de Selliers de Moranville was born in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Belgium in 1852, and he came from an old Catholic noble family. He graduated from the Royal Military Academy in 1869 and was in command of the Rijkswacht until 1914, when he became chief commander of the Belgian Army at the start of World War I. During his tenure, the German Empire invaded Belgium, and he was dismissed by King Albert I of Belgium on 6 September 1914; King Albert assumed personal command over the military. He died in 1945.
