Hermann Hanner (20 March 1919-), also known as Anton Kunik, was the Kriminal-Assistent of the Hamburg Police during the 1960s. Born in Dresden, he joined the SS (Number 1498514) and rose to the rank of SS-Untersturmführer during World War II. After the war, he joined ODESSA and changed his identity in order to join the police. In that position, he stymied investigations into ODESSA's secret activities, including the November 1963 murder of Salomon Tauber and the obstruction of journalist Peter Miller's investigation. He was later arrested after the ODESSA files were leaked to the public in early 1964.
