Anton Andreyevich Alikhanov (17 September 1986-) was Governor of Kaliningrad Oblast from 6 October 2016, succeeding Evgeny Zinichev. He belonged to the United Russia party.
Biography[]
Anton Alikhanov was born in Sukhumi, Abkhaz ASSR, Soviet Union in 1986 to a Caucasian Greek father and a Russian Cossack mother. His father was the founder of a large company, and Anton worked in the Justice Ministry before becoming a United Russia member. In 2016, President Vladimir Putin appointed him as acting Governor of Kaliningrad Oblast, and he was confirmed in the post after winning re-election in 2017.
